Grooming of a long haired rabbit can take form in many different
ways, here at Jessie-lee Rabbit Stud we like to use a method known as blowing, Useing a GMC blower/vac.
A English Angora in show coat is a animal that will
need grooming everyday. Using the blower you can see were small knots are simply remove them with a slicker brush or comb.
When I'm blowing I feel there is no need to use a brush at all, unless a knot is there.
I even groom my Cashmere's with a blower, Its an easier way of maintaining there coat especially with kittens.
Blowing coats on a long coated rabbit is a easy
and more time efficient way of maintaining a coat. it allows you too see were mates or knots are forming, and blow all
lose coat out.
It’s EASY! Give it a try; you purchase one
of these blowers from your local hardware store, for around $50. Or if you can find a reverse vacuum cleaner can
do the same job!
To groom a standard rex i sit the rabbit on a towel either
on my lap or on a grooming bench and wet my hands and rub the coat from the rump up to the head. Backwords and forwards until
it is dry. Brings the coat together and gives it a nice apperance.
